Matthew is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at OHSU. He completed Emergency Medicine residency at UAB, a prehospital medicine fellowship at the University of Cincinnati, and is board certified in Emergency Medicine and EMS. In addition to clinical duties, he serves as the medical director of the Tillamook County fire agencies, an Associate Medical Director for Multnomah County EMS and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and as the Medical Director for online medical direction in the Portland metropolitan region (Medical Resource Hospital). He also serves as the Program Director for the OHSU Fellowship in EMS. His research interests include cardiac arrest resuscitation, ventilation, airway management, and the advancement of prehospital care.
