J. Cory Miner, Ph.D., Paramedic, Senior Instructional
Dr. Cory Miner Dean, Senior Instructional Dean Lane Community College is an experienced paramedic, educator, and leader in emergency medical services, with a career spanning over two decades in EMS education, curriculum development, and healthcare leadership. He currently serves as the Senior Instructional Dean at Lane Community College, where he oversees one of the largest health professions divisions in Oregon, including nationally accredited programs in Paramedicine, Nursing, and Allied Health.
Dr. Miner holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum Studies and Teacher Education from Texas Tech University, with research focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in EMS education. His academic background also includes doctoral work in Organizational Change and Leadership at the University of Southern California and Human Physiology at the University of Oregon. He has extensive experience in EMS instruction, program administration, and accreditation, having previously directed EMS programs, Health and Safety Services, and served as faculty in paramedicine and human physiology education.
Beyond academia, Dr. Miner has played a key role in EMS workforce development, community health initiatives, and trauma-informed education. His expertise spans critical care transport, wilderness medicine, and emergency response training. He has presented at numerous state and national conferences on topics including cardiovascular physiology, autonomic nervous system physiology, wilderness emergency care, trauma management, advanced airway techniques, and the integration of EDI principles in EMS education.
A dedicated advocate for EMS professionals, Dr. Miner continues to shape the future of prehospital care through research, policy development, and innovative instructional design.
